Labor Day Dream Drives

Labor day recognizes the achievements of workers all over North America. This weekend, celebrate your hard work and go for a road trip to round off summer and welcome fall. Here are two short but sweet Dream Drives from two of our favorite cities in the US.

Los Angeles to Santa Barbara

The Drive

Heading north from the traffic-jammed roads of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara is a perfect getaway for the weekend. The drive consists of the famous Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) that will offer nearly endless vistas of the coast. If you plan to go straight to Santa Barbara, it will take you around 2 hours, depending on traffic. If you’re up for a little more adventure, you can drive through the Topanga Canyon Loop and make pit stops at Malibu and Ventura, both with some of California’s finest beaches.

Things to Do

Santa Barbara is known as the “American Riveria” and carries many Mediterranean highlights throughout the city. There is something for everyone, including the speciality seafood offerings in the local restaurants.

New York to Finger Lakes

The Drive

Cruising along the I-80W for about 4.5 hours will take you from the Big Apple to the beautiful Finger Lakes. This lovely drive features it all: lakes, hills, farms and the many quant towns along the way, plus the highlight of the trip – the vineyards.

Things to Do

This drive is famous for its unique vineyards, so we’d recommend an adventurous spirit and a designated driver to get you around safely. You can also stop in Ithaca for a tour of Ivy League school, Cornell. Another option is Geneva, which is at the northern tip of Seneca Lake.

Take one of these road trips before school season begins and to celebrate all the hard work you have accomplished.  If you’ve been on one of these trips, please feel free to share the highlights and stories from your dream drives.

Happy Labour Day!
